Puppy Pals come together for a very special Thank You Day

On Sunday, 25 October, we welcomed our wonderful Puppy Pals to the Guide Dogs Centre in Glossodia for our 2026 Puppy Pals Thank You Day.

It was a special opportunity to bring our community together, say thank you for their incredible support and give Puppy Pals a closer look at the difference they help make.

Throughout the day, supporters had the chance to meet some of our dogs and puppies, explore different areas of the Guide Dogs Centre and hear more about the work that happens across Guide Dogs. Activities planned for the day included kennel tours, a Puppy Development session, an enrichment space, a fun zone for children, photo opportunities and more.

Seeing the impact of their support

One of the most important parts of the day was giving Puppy Pals the opportunity to see first-hand how their ongoing support helps Guide Dogs.

Our teams were on hand throughout the event to chat with supporters and share more about the many ways Guide Dogs supports people with low vision or blindness. The Client Services tent introduced guests to services including Occupational Therapy, Orientation and Mobility, Assistive Technology, Connections and SeeWay.

The conversations continued well beyond the tent, with supporters asking about volunteering, temporary care and home boarding, Gifts in Wills, corporate kennel tours and opportunities for Guide Dogs speakers to attend community events.

Most importantly, the day helped strengthen the connection between our Puppy Pals and the impact of their support. Following the event, our team heard from supporters who said they had gained a better understanding of how their contributions help Guide Dogs.

Despite a very warm day, our supporters, volunteers, Puppy Raisers and Guide Dogs team came together to make the event a memorable one. From meeting the pups and taking photos to asking questions and learning more about our work, there was plenty happening throughout the day.
