Therapy Dog Awareness Month 2026: Therapy Dog Occhi,

Whilst we’ve caught up with Court Dogs Sunny, Lani and Molly, we want to introduce Therapy Dog Occhi!

Occhi joined both the St Francis of Assisi Primary School and St Patrick's Marist College High School in late July 2026.

Since her arrival, Occhi has stepped into her new role as part of our wellbeing teams with confidence and she’s already become a favourite with both students and staff.

You’ll find Occhi listening to children read in classrooms, spending time in our Wellbeing Hub, individual therapy (which involves a lot of patting and hugs) and supporting students in our High Support Needs Unit.

Wherever she goes she seems to bring a little extra calm, confidence and joy.

Just read the incredible impact Occhi is already making:
“Research shows that Therapy Dogs can help reduce stress and anxiety, encourage social connection and create a sense of safety that helps students engage more confidently in learning and wellbeing activities. We’ve certainly seen those benefits first hand with smiles appearing the moment Occhi walks into a room.”

It’s safe to say Occhi has made an incredible first impression and she’s proving that sometimes the best wellbeing support comes with four paws and a wagging tail.
