About Fella
Fella is an extra tall and extra handsome black Labrador. Following his graduation in September 2023, Fella went to live with one of our staff members in the Philanthropy team and spends his days working in our flagship St Leonards office, where he greets visitors when they come in. He also attends events as a brand ambassador, offering pats and cuddles, getting paid in carrot or apples. Fella’s favorite thing to do is visit our donors and demonstrate all the skills that he learnt in formal Guide Dog training, before curling up and going to sleep (usually upside down) wrapped around your feet. You can contact Fella at his very own email address – fella@guidedogs.com.au.

Ambassador Work
What Ambassador work does Fella do?
Fella’s week can vary from doing a photoshoot to attending events like school fairs and corporate sponsor offices. He also spends time helping out in the puppy training classes on a Wednesday in the office, interacting with the younger pups in Puppy Raising and teaching them how to play and greet each other politely.
Ambassador Dogs need a wide range of skills, as well as a friendly, calm temperament to work in many different environments. They need to be confident in new situations, have impeccable manners around food and other dogs. Ambassador Dogs need to know when to engage with people and when to sit quietly and wait for commands from their handler.
If you’d like to see more of Fella and the events that our Ambassador Dogs attend, you can follow us on Instagram and TikTok where we share event wraps ups and videos of our dogs at work!
