Social Change update August 2025.
Be part of the change.
In Social Change, Client voices are at the heart of everything we do, and we’d love for you to be a part of our campaigns. It’s essential for us to ensure we’re representing causes that matter to you and action them in a way that resonate with your local community.
There are many ways to contribute. You can:
- Participate in focus groups to shape our advocacy campaigns.
- Share our resources on social media and through your networks.
- Lead a campaign in your local community.
To keep updated with the Social Change team and ways to get involved, sign up as an Inclusion Ally.
Our next campaign: Tomorrow’s Leaders.
Workplaces aren’t truly inclusive until everyone has a fair shot. That’s why our Social Change team is taking on the barriers that people with low vision or blindness face in employment in their next advocacy campaign.
In June, the team facilitated two Client focus groups to better understand the challenges, barriers and successes people with low vision or blindness face when it comes to employment.
We continue to develop our campaign with plans to roll out a targeted strategy later this year. If you have ideas to share, or a story to tell about barriers to employment, especially, the recruitment process, we would love to hear from you. Please email us at socialchange@guidedogs.com.au.

It was International Allyship Day on Friday 8 August.
As a part of our celebration, the Social Change team hosted our first webinar.

- What it means to be an ally.
- How to be a good ally to the blind and low vision community.
- Dos and don’ts of being an ally.
- The launch of their toolkit for taxi and ride share advocacy.
