Client Services have been presenting at conferences for eyecare professionals.

August 12, 2025

In July, SeeWay’s Business Development Manager, Monica and Guide Dogs NSW/ACT Area Manager, Caroline had a talk with around 70 fourth year Optometry students about the Guide Dogs and SeeWay services available to them. It was a very insightful chat that was amazing to be part of. Lived Experience Presenter, Andy Hampson also shared her personal story at the event to provide further insight into the impact that low vision or blindness has on an individual.

Following on, some of the Client Services team went to a huge ophthalmology conference in Sydney where Ophthalmologists were flown in from all over America and the Asia-Pacific region to attend. Many different professionals spoke about the success of a new dosage of drug used for wet macular degeneration. This new dosage has been very successful in a recent trial and means less frequent injections for the patient, but the same impact.

Finally, Guide Dogs NSW/ACT and SeeWay presented at the optometry seminar hosted by Marsden Eye Specialists in Parramatta on Wednesday 13 August. There were over 100 practicing Optometrists at the event, and we educated them about our services that are available for their Clients with low vision or blindness.

Better than anything Santa can deliver.

For Sora, no toy, no gadget, or even a present from Santa Claus himself can compare to the life-changing support she receives from Guide Dogs.
