About Venus
Venus is a small girl with a big heart! She makes a great Ambassador Dog due to her calm, caring nature and her love for being around people. Don’t be fooled by her placid personality, when Venus is excited, her tail wags so much that she ends up having full body wiggles. She loves all the pats and attention she gets working at events around NSW and ACT and takes her role very seriously. Venus loves to carry toys around, and her favourite time of the day is when she first wakes up – she is just so excited to start the day! And of course, breakfast and dinner time.
When she is not working at events, she can often be found in the Guide Dogs flagship office at St Leonards sleeping under her handler’s desk. Apart from her favourite treats, her favourite food is Advance Kibble and she will do just about anything some food. Her perfect day would involve a trip to the beach to play in the sand and the water.
Her favourite treat is carrot and apple – how could you pick just one!

What Ambassador work does Venus do?
Venus attends events all over NSW! Venus will regularly attend Fundraising events for the Gifts in Wills team and Philanthropy team and loves to meet lots of our donors out in the community.
At events, Venus gets to say hello to the attendees and pose for photos and gets lots of pats and cuddles. She wears a special jacket so that you know she is working. Sometimes, she gets to attend events alongside her Ambassador Dog friend Fella!
Every year, Venus looks forward to working at events such as our Guide Dogs Café and International Guide Dog Day to celebrate and acknowledge her Guide Dog friends.
If you’d like to see more of Venus and the events that our Ambassador Dogs attend, you can follow us on Instagram and TikTok where we share event wraps ups and videos of our dogs at work!
