Australia's first ever beauty summit.

An event dedicated to raising awareness of the beauty bias.

What was it?

Australia’s beauty bias is enough to make you blush.

Many beauty brands have unintentionally excluded people with low vision or blindness, from tiny writing and low-contrast colours to products with indistinguishable shapes. The Boundless Beauty Summit set out to change that.

Featuring Molly Burke, content creator and diversity and inclusion advocate, as well as a panel of leaders in beauty, design, and accessibility, the event showcased how inclusivity benefits everyone! Thank you to our panellists as well including Alexandra Brayshaw, Kathleen Casford, Courtney Withers, Karlee Symonds, Lily Twelftree, Storm Menzies and Sandra Glenn who used their expertise to start conversations about making beauty more accessible.

With more than 500,000 Australians living with low vision or blindness and more than half the population affected by eye health issues, accessible design isn’t just the right thing to do, it makes business sense.

Many brands think of accessible design as something that’s too hard to do for too small a proportion of the market. The truth is that products designed with inclusivity in mind can benefit everyone. Thank you to the brands who joined us including ByStorm Beauty, WILDE by Oscar, Okkiyo and Microsoft who added their voice to the conversation and helped us make the world a little more boundless.

Want to get involved in our mission towards a Boundless world? Find out how.
