Overview
Experience a demonstration of basic self-defence techniques and martial arts disciplines presented by Tony Carter, a qualified instructor who is blind.
This event provides a preview of strategies and self-defence skills for people who are blind or have low vision, that will support them to feel more confident in difficult situations.
Techniques on display include:
• Tips to controlling different situations;
• Ways to avoid confrontation;
• Safety falls; and
• Using self-defence strategies to defend or escape from harm.
The demonstration will include different strategies and techniques based on the participant’s level of mobility and will include ideas for both standing and seated scenarios.
