About the event
There is no other event which provides all runners with the unique opportunity to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge traffic (and toll) free!
The Challenge:
This year we want to raise $35,000 which would cover the cost to sponsor a Guide Dog from a playful puppy to a responsible working Guide Dog.
To hit this goal, we need the support of people like YOU to join Team Guide Dogs and help raise enough to sponsor a Guide Dog for someone with low vision.
You could even win the chance get to name the puppy when we reach our goal!
Get involved:
With four different distances available there is something there for everyone, so all you need to do is decide how far you want to run!
- Family Fun Run – 3.5km
- Bridge Run – 10km
- Half Marathon – 21km
- Sydney Marathon – 42km

Get inspired:
18 year old Emily is running in the event for the first time this year.
Born with a rare genetic disorder which includes an eye condition called Retintis Pigmentosa (RP), Emily has no peripheral vision, only slight central vision and night blindness.
Guide Dogs NSW/ACT provided Emily with a long cane and training to aid her getting around safely and independently.
After participating in a Guide Dog ‘trial walk’ last month, Emily said that she may be interested in possibly getting a Guide Dog one day.
She has decided to fundraise for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT as a way of saying thanks for the help and support provided.
“I’ve never been a runner but I’m really enjoying it. I’m training every week in preparation with the help of my former High School Teacher, Michelle Teys, and also going to the gym” she said.
To date, Emily has raised over $700 and is currently the leading fundraiser in the team.
