Meet Arnie

We're thrilled to welcome Arnie, the newest addition to our St Leonards Ambassador Dog family!

Personality

Arnie is a charming yellow Labrador who is already working hard as an Ambassador Dog, thanks to his playful yet gentle nature and winning smile. Partnered with Handler Tori Larosa, Arnie can be found at events across NSW and ACT or curled up next to Tori’s desk at the Guide Dogs headquarters in St Leonards.

Born into the ‘A’ litter on 28 January 2023, Arnie’s mother is the Therapy Dog Felicity, and his father is Merlin. His journey began in the caring home of Puppy Development Advisor (PDA) Dan Cassels and Volunteer Celine Chiu, before being raised by Puppy Raisers in St Leonards under the guidance of PDA Lisa Williams. Arnie then returned to the Guide Dog Centre, where he began his Guide Dog Training with Thomas Linford.

After graduating as a Guide Dog, Arnie decided that being an Ambassador Dog was his chosen career path and underwent additional training with Kirsten King. (Special mention must also go to Dani Hogan for working with him as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor and Gemma Farquhar for temp caring.)

When he’s not busy charming everyone at the St Leonards office, you’ll find Arnie at home playing with his well-loved giraffe toy or chasing his squeaky Kong ball. He’s a quick learner who loves working with Tori to master new tricks and skills. But perhaps his favourite part of being in the St Leonards office is spending time with his new buddies—Venus, Siena, Fella, Nancy, and Bes.

With his infectious enthusiasm and gentle nature, Arnie is more than just our newest team member—he’s a testament to our commitment to excellence for our dogs beyond guiding.
