Tune In: Let’s Talk about Vision Loss

Date | Time
Fri 01 October, 2021 - Various dates throughout October

About the event

Provided by Guide Dogs Connections Services, entirely designed and delivered by people who a blind or who have low vision, this Chatter Paws miniseries will be a safe and supportive space to explore the emotions and experiences that come with losing vision.

This three-part miniseries will be facilitated by three people who have lived their own experience of vision loss. They will start conversations on normalising the process of grief, adjustment and acceptance.

The discussion will then shift to talking to friends and family about vision loss.

The miniseries will be an open and interactive discussion, with a focus on supporting one another through the sharing of experiences.

All sessions will be held over Zoom. You can attend all three sessions, or just those that interest you most.

Session 1: Understanding Grief: It’s part of the process
Guest contributor: Chrissy Antonopoulos, Provisional Psychologist will be joining us to discuss grief and how it relates to vision loss. Chrissy will not only be sharing her professional expertise, but as a person with low vision also brings her personal insight.
5 October 2021 4 pm – 5:30 pm

Session 2: Talking about Vision Loss with Family
If you wish, please extend an invite to family members to come along to this session.

Session 3: Talking about Vision Loss with Friends
